Precast Concrete Hauling with Jones Logistics

Our team took swift action whenever one of our partners, Design Precast & Pipe, Inc., requested assistance moving two electrical manhole covers. Each of the concrete covers weighed in at 77,000 pounds and 15 feet wide, putting these loads more than 20,000 pounds and 6.5 feet over the legal limit.

Bridging the Gap: Concrete Bridge Beams

In modern infrastructure, the backbone of our highways and bridges is often woven with sturdy fibers of concrete bridge beams. As integral as they are to the fabric of our transportation networks, concrete bridge beams are also very heavy, and can be challenging to move. In fact, the beams our client needed to haul came in at about 133,000 pounds each and measured 133 feet long! When our client needed to transfer fifteen of these heavy bridge beams from a manufacturing yard to a construction site, they counted on our team to deliver.

Super Heavy. Super Simple.

Our client was in a pinch whenever their previous transportation provider backed out of a heavy haul project. Upon recommendation, they looked to our team and tasked us with moving an 83-foot tank coming in at 88,000 pounds across the country from McGregor, TX to Lowellville, OH.

Special Delivery: Pipe Bending Machine

It takes quite the machine to bend a 48" diameter pipe. This particular piece of equipment requires two large pipelayers, an excavator, and very skilled drivers to work in unison to operate. Our team was asked to move this 130,000 lb product 498 miles from Tulsa, Oklahoma to Blanco, Texas.

Making Major Moves: 80,000 lb. Generator

Moving an 80,000 lb generator from New Berlin, Wisconsin to Huntsville, Alabama, is no simple feat, and our team did what they do best – they provided solutions. This special product needed to be transported to Blue Origin, a rocket engine production facility built to fulfill Amazon’s space venture operations. This generator serves two main roles – 1) to serve as backup power and 2) to provide peak-hour power generation. The generator kicks on during peak power hours to help save costs. A product like this is difficult to weigh, so after this project was placed in the hands of our team, we discovered another challenge. The original weight estimates of the product were off by 20,000 lbs.
